GIFTED AND TALENTED PHILOSOPHY
Iola-Scandinavia School District
The Iola-Scandinavia School District recognizes that all students have gifts and talents. Some students possess them to an extraordinary degree in one or more of the following areas: intellectual ability, academic ability, leadership, creative ability and visual and performing arts. Such students need specially planned educational services beyond those normally provided. The goal of our district is to meet identified educational needs through differentiated instruction within existing classrooms and through acceleration within the department structure.
The G/T program will provide educational services which permit each child an opportunity to grow at his or her optimal rate, and in a systematic and continuous manner.
